Lake Cathie Who's Who
Public Profile

Unique accommodation in the Byron Bay hinterland.
The Cromwell family farming roots go back many generations on both sides of our families, here in Australia and in Canada. Today, with the help of our daughters, Aubrey, Morley, and Bella, we manage 40 acres in the Byron Bay Hinterland using regenerative practices with a focus on unique farm stays and pasture-raised, rare heritage breeds. Our family strives to bring joy and sustainability to regenerative farming.
Our working family farm in Goonengerry offers visitors many wholesome experiences including hand-picking your own produce, interacting with our farm animals, exploring the land and buildings and of course, overnight stays.
We also offer homely getaways in the Clarence Valley - in Wooli, Ulmarra and Glenugie. Head to our website to view all our accommodation options!

Distinguished and Famous people from Lake Cathie
🎵 Jock Garven
Educator Jock Garven has combined leadership at Lake Cathie Public School with a substantial contribution to youth music. The council’s 2023 Australia Day program records his work establishing the HATCH and HATCHlings youth bands and creating Big Band Blast with jazz musician James Morrison in 2013. His volunteering and encouragement of young people were recognised in the regional citizen awards. The association with Lake Cathie is a named educational role, alongside work reaching the wider Hastings and Camden Haven communities. His story offers a local example of music-making depending on organisers and teachers as well as the performers under the stage lights.
